The exhibition Pollutec takes place yearly in turn in Lyon and Paris. The main theme this year in Lyon was Biomass as the french government is planning to build up 2.000 biogas plants nationwide until 2015.
The plan is financially supported by the new EEG-Law (renewable energy law), and provides amongst others a bonus payment to the operating companies for the use of heat from biomass power stations.

On the booth of Putzmeister France the Putzmeister Solid Pumps machines for the sewage treatment plants and the treatment of biomass applications were the central point. For demonstration we used flowsheets of both processes and models of the S-tube type pump KOS as well as of the silo systems.

In spite of the bad weather situation (the airport Lyon and the railway service between Paris and Lyon were hardly impacted by big masses of snow) most of the decision makers for the actual Putzmeister France projects were among the visitors. So there was the chance to discuss further details for the progress of the project.
The visits of the operating companies of sewage treatment plants with Putzmeister high-densitiy solids pumps and their feedback of the possitive experiences regarding the Life Cycle Costs were extremely interesting.
